We’re proud to welcome Dalmatia to the Psyched! Records family. Born in San Francisco, California at the end of 2024, Dalmatia makes alternative rock and shoegaze that feels inseparable from the city that created it: foggy, romantic, disorienting, beautiful, and a little dangerous. The band calls it “marine-layer music”—a fitting name for songs that drift in like the thick wall of fog rolling off the Pacific Ocean, changing the atmosphere before you even realize it.
Dalmatia began when vocalist Autumn and guitarist Jax met online through a shared desire to start a band. Within a month, they had already written the first three songs that would become their Namesake EP. Drummer Cole and guitarist Joe, a longtime friend and former bandmate of Jax, soon completed the four-piece.
Their sound pulls from the hazy worlds of Slowdive and Cocteau Twins while finding common ground with a newer generation of guitar music represented by artists like Momma and Cryogeyser. But the center of Dalmatia has always been San Francisco itself—the weather, the architecture, the creative community and the strange emotional geography of living inside a city that can disappear into fog overnight.
Dalmatia is currently working toward their debut full-length concept album, Adagio, scheduled for release in early 2027 via Psyched! Records, with new singles, videos and live dates arriving along the way.
For Psyched! Records, this signing feels especially close to home. Dalmatia is a young San Francisco band building something distinctly their own while remaining deeply connected to the community around them—exactly the kind of music we want to help push into the world.
Please join us in welcoming Dalmatia to Psyched! Records. Their music is part of a greater story… in the marine layer.
We’re proud to welcome Hazy Portraits to the Psyched! Records family. Hailing from Berkeley, California, Hazy Portraits is an alternative rock four-piece built for late nights, loud rooms, and the kind of memories that get a little blurrier every time you try to replay them. Their music crashes together the grit of the ’90s, the effortless cool of the Y2K era, shimmering shoegaze, sharp-edged indie rock, and the reckless pulse of straight-up rock ’n’ roll.
